The second round of Cool Shit Friday happened! If we can make it three this things should stick. Our team sits down every other Friday and has lunch together, sharing something wonderful, curious, or important that has been on our radar as of late. Everyone pays attentions and tries to absorb what’s going on. It’s good to share and it’s good to write, so this is a two birds with one stone situation.

  • New York Times — The Loneliness of Being Black in San Francisco Logan Emser — Designer

Interesting read showing how an area once a beacon for Jazz, culture, and diversity has become distinctly the opposite. This shows parallels with the lack of diversity in the Tech scene.

  • Adobe MasterpieceRadhika Unnikrishnan — UI UX

Showing off Adobe’s new stock photography service. Digital artist recreates classic lost painting using all stock photography. Great video.

  • Mercedes Helwein Alexander Gracey — Studio & Community Manager

Contemporary artist and writer. She works out of LA and Ireland. Fantastic work showing a muddy look at the past and social documentation. Clear references to found photography and home use cameras.

  • Interference ArchiveDeroy Peraza — Principal + Creative Director

Treasure trove collection of political prints and artwork. Around the corner from the office.

  • Ice Cream Museum Wen Ping Huang — Designer

Crazy fun museum with a sprinkles swimming pool. Completely sold out, but amazing none the less.

  • Beauty Joelle Woodson — Strategic Planner

Oldie but a goodie that a lot of the team had not seen. Renaissance paintings brought to life is a very haunting manner. Make sure to watch the whole thing. Art History nerd fun.

  • The 1-OK Club Nick Di Chiara — Designer

Australian, collection of well designed object that go against conventional ideas of design (read mass production)

  • Short of the weekAndres Kishimoto — Intern

6–7 shorts. Clean site, great content, has an incredible comedy section.
